About Me

Ms. Turner at age 4.
  • I was born and grew up in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in International Relations and German, I moved to Portland in 1995. 
  • My previous career included inside sales for a company that manufactures the equipment that makes computer chips, as well as marketing for an Internet software company that developed filtering technologies. 
  • I returned to school in 2004 and completed my Masters in Teaching at Concordia University in 2006. I have been teaching either 7th or 8th grade at Beaumont Middle School ever since.
  • I enjoy outdoor activities like camping, outrigger canoe paddling, skiing, and bicycling. I love reading, watching Grimm, the German American Society of Portland, and spending time with my family and pets.
